Question:
Dr Danny,
When does fasting become law.  I believe in prayer and fasting.  So many are fasting for days on end.  Perhaps to receive from the Lord, and such. I have not been able to do this, though I would like to.  The Lord has not led me to do an extended fast.  Whatever I do, I want to do it unto my Lord. But, of course, the enemy comes in and makes me feel guilty, because I didn’t fast for a month. But I refuse to be led by guilt, but instead, by the Spirit.  So, when does fasting become law as opposed to Grace?
Hope you can help.
Sue
Answer:
Never, many of these people are practicing what the Lord denounced in the Sermon on the Mount Matthew 5-7, performing their righteous acts before men to be seen by them as pious. Keep being led by the Spirit, a holy life is not observed in the extremes of feast and famine but in the moderation of a surrendered life. Even the false religions practice these fasts and it brings them no closer to God! Walk in freedom sister. Blessings,

Dr. Danny
